2 Day South African Wildlife Tour with 4x4 Safari from Cape Town

Day 1: Botlierskop - Oudtshoorn

   This safari-focused 2 day tour gives you unforgettable opportunities to see some of Africa’s wildlife in their natural habitat. The trip is fast paced; including transport, stays and two different 4x4 game drives.
   
   Depart from the tour's Meeting Point at 6:45am in Cape Town, or if booked early you can arrange hotel pickup from 5km of central city.
   
   Your journey will begin as you leave the silhouette of Table Mountain behind to trade it for the scenery of the Klein Karoo to visit a Garden Route region game reserve. The first wildlife reserve is about 450 km away from Cape Town ( about 6 hours away - subject to additional rest stops in between).
   
   Spot some of Africa’s Big 5 wild animals from the back of an open 4x4 vehicle at Botlierskop, a malaria-free private game reserve near Mossel Bay. Search for giraffe, white rhino, kudu, lion, elephant, zebra, wildebeest, to name a few. The game drive is led by an experienced game ranger, sharing knowledge of the local wildlife.
2. Oudtshoorn

   The scenery during the next 50 miles changes dramatically from green to dusty dull greys as you reach the relatively arid region of the Klein Karoo and the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn.
   
   Enjoy an evening of free time in Oudtshoorn, relaxing at your accommodation. Ask your guide to book an optional "braai" barbecue dinner at the backpackers (subject to availability) to sample ostrich meat ("sosaties") and homemade bread ("pot brood"), or explore the region's other dining options to sample a variety of local dishes. The guide can help pre-book your dining preference with top restaurants of the region.

Day 2: Buffelsdrift - Route 62 - Cape Town

   After breakfast, jump straight into the thick of the Klein Karoo bush this morning as you set out on an open-topped 4x4 bush drive to seek out some more of Africa’s animals, including Cape buffaloes and African elephants at Buffelsdrift Private Game Reserve. Your expert guide and ranger will help spot wildlife, you may see zebras, wildebeests, giraffes - just to name a few. This "bush drive safari" focuses more getting close to nature; insects and plants as the reserve is not home to many big game species. This nature bush drive is focused on explaining and exploring the ecosystem and smaller wildlife of this Klein Karoo region.
2. Buffelsdrift Game Lodge - Activities

   Those seeking a meaningful nature experience can join rangers on an Elephant Observation experience (optional at extra fees)with a nature walk to have the opportunity to see these three rescued elephants in their natural environment. You'll learn about these gentle giants as you see them roam freely in their bushvelt habitat, under the watchful eye of the elephant guides.
3. Route 62 Mountain Adventures

   End off a seemingly perfect day with a drive along Route 62, the longest wine route in the world! Capture the beauty of high mountains, twisting passes, rugged Karoo plains during this approximately 450 km journey - that's about 5 to 6 hours subject to weather and traffic, lunch and other rest stops before arriving in Cape Town by evening (between 7pm to ± 9pm).

Pickup details

Select hotel pickup from any address within 5km of central Cape Town or Stellenbosch town (available if booked at least 2 days before departure). Pickup service starts up to 90 minutes before the tour departure time, depending on your location and the day's pickup route. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed during check-in about 1 day before the tour.

• The exact arrival time in Cape Town on day 2 cannot be guaranteed as it is subject to weather and traffic conditions
• If you do not have plenty of time in South Africa, this tour is ideal for customers who can't visit Kruger National Park - but Kruger area has a more authentic safari experience indeed.
• According to availability at time of booking, accommodation will be in the mentioned hotel or in one of a similar standard and star rating
• Upgrade accommodation fees cannot be refunded if cancelled less than 8 days before the tour departure date.
• The tour operator already pre-booked space at all optional activities for the group and you can simply decide on the first day of the tour if you'll partake. Optional activities can only be paid on the tour directly to the supplier. Optional activities are subject to weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
• Personal comprehensive travel insurance is excluded and recommended
• The bush/game drive vehicle used are an especially adopted open-roof converted jeep or truck.

• Accommodation stay packages will overnight in different properties, each listed in the itinerary. Backpackers are usually far away from guesthouses / lodges.
