What to expect

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Benhaddou - Skoura - Dades Valley
  1. Marrakech
    3h
Today’s tour begins in Marrakech, where we’ll meet you at your accommodation. From there, we’ll head to the Dades Valley via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains. It promises to be a wonderful day as you travel along this spectacular route, taking in sweeping views of Berber villages and the ever-changing landscapes throughout the journey.
  2. Ouarzazate
    2h
We’ll make a detour to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou—widely regarded as one of the most beautiful kasbahs in the region. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, it has also served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood productions.
  3. Dades Gorges
    3h
You’ll stop for lunch at the kasbah, then continue to the Dades Gorge along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” which offers excellent photo opportunities of both the landscapes and local life. Next, we’ll reach Kalaat M’Gouna—the heart of the Roses Valley—before carrying on to the Dades Valley to see the remarkable rock formation known as the “monkey toes.” You’ll spend the night in a traditional riad, with dinner included.
Day 2: Dades - Todgha Gorges - Merzouga Desert
  1. Dades Gorges
    1h
After breakfast, you’ll leave the Dades Valley and head toward Tinghir and the Todgha Valley, taking in breathtaking views of mud-and-stone Berber villages perched above the valley.
  2. 1h
Upon arriving at the gorge, we’ll walk along the base of the 300-meter-high red cliffs—an area that’s especially popular with rock-climbing enthusiasts.
  3. Merzouga
    4h
Your tour continues to Erfoud. Along the way, we’ll stop at scenic viewpoints for photos and visit a site where locals work to uncover fossils. You’ll reach the Merzouga Desert in the afternoon, then ride camels—led by an experienced camel handler—into the heart of Morocco’s highest sand dunes to catch the sunset. Spend the night in a desert camp, with dinner, a drumming session, and a campfire.

  1. Merzouga
    2h
You will get you up early in the morning to see one of the best sunrises of your whole life. After breakfast at the camp , you will leave the desert.
  2. Rissani

Next, you’ll travel to Rissani—once known as Sijilmassa—the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, Morocco’s reigning royal family. The town remains deeply traditional, with many women wearing veils and men often donning hooded cloaks (djellabas).
  3. Ouarzazate
    3h
We’ll continue toward the magnificent Tamnougalt Kasbah and the village of Agdz, traveling via Alnif and Tazzarine. From there, we’ll reach the captivating Draa Valley at the edge of the Atlas Mountains—an area lined with hundreds of Berber kasbahs—before continuing to Ouarzazate, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.

As you continue toward Kasbah Telouet along the Ounila, you’ll enjoy sweeping, lunar-like panoramas contrasting with the Atlas peaks and Berber villages. You’ll also visit Kasbah Telouet, located in an area once famed for the caravan trade led by descendants of the T-Hami El Glaoui family in the late 19th century.
