Opened in 1901, this architectural gem is filled with vibrant food stalls, artisan producers, and long-standing family-run businesses.

On this stop, your local guide will take you through the bustling aisles to sample authentic Finnish delicacies, meet passionate vendors, and hear fascinating stories about the hall’s history and role in Tampere’s everyday life. Next, we head to Laukontori, Tampere’s picturesque harbor-side market square, located along the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. Known for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful lakeside views, Laukontori is a favorite local gathering place especially during the warmer months.

Here, you'll experience the flavors of Finnish street food culture at its best. Guided by your local expert, you’ll sample regional specialties like mustamakkara (Tampere’s famous blood sausage) served with lingonberry jam, and learn the stories behind these unique dishes. You’ll also hear about the market’s historic connection to the fishing trade, lake cruises, and the city’s working-class roots.

Laukontori offers not just food, but a deep sense of Tampere’s everyday rhythm where locals meet, eat, and enjoy life by the water.

Tucked between the Tammerkoski rapids, Kehräsaari is one of Tampere’s most charming hidden gems. This small island was once home to part of the city’s thriving textile industry, and today it blends industrial heritage with creative culture, cozy cafés, and riverside views.

On this stop, your guide will walk you through the red-brick alleys of this atmospheric area, where old factory buildings have been transformed into independent restaurants, artisan shops, and cultural spaces. You’ll get a glimpse of local life beyond the main streets and feel the slower, more intimate side of Tampere.

Whether it’s enjoying a quiet moment by the water or hearing stories about the island’s transformation, Kehräsaari adds a unique cultural layer to your culinary journey.
Finlayson Area
1h · Admission ticket included

Your tour concludes in the heart of the Finlayson area, one of Tampere’s most iconic and historically rich neighborhoods. Once the center of Finland’s textile industry, this red-brick industrial district has been transformed into a lively hub of art, innovation, and design, yet it still holds the spirit of Tampere’s working-class roots.

Here, you’ll enjoy a true local meal with drinks served high above the city, on the rooftop of the historic Finlayson complex. As you dine, take in the panoramic views of Tampere’s skyline, lakes, and surrounding nature. It’s the perfect finale to your culinary journey: great food, rich stories, and an unforgettable setting that literally puts Tampere at your feet.
