Start with a visit to a local market, where your hosts introduce you to the ingredients used in Balinese cooking. Then stop at the village school, subject to the school calendar, as it is closed on weekends and public holidays. Continue to the family home to learn how to make traditional offerings and discover their role in Balinese rituals.
Join your hosts in the kitchen to help prepare lunch and roast coffee. Then sit down together to enjoy the meal you helped prepare.
After lunch, walk through the village, meet residents and follow country paths to a small temple, where you take part in a blessing ceremony.
Continue to the rice fields to learn how the irrigation system works. Your hosts introduce you to rice planting and traditional farming tools, giving you insight into rural life in Bali.
