Overview

Leave the crowded parks behind and head into southeastern Utah’s true slot canyon country—home to longer, more immersive canyoneering routes that don’t exist around Moab. This full-day adventure takes place in remote desert terrain where silence, towering sandstone walls, and deep, sculpted canyons define the experience.

You’ll descend into narrow slot canyons using ropes and rappels, navigate extended canyon corridors, and learn essential canyoneering techniques along the way. These are legitimate canyon descents—longer routes with real commitment, varied terrain, and meaningful time spent underground—guided by experienced locals who manage all technical systems with a strong focus on safety and quality.

This is not a sightseeing hike or a short novelty rappel. It’s an immersive canyoneering expedition through some of southeastern Utah’s most classic and seldom-visited slot canyons, offering depth, solitude, and a level of adventure that simply can’t be found in the Moab area.

What to expect

This full-day canyoneering adventure is designed for those thrill seekers looking for a deeper and more immersive slot canyon experience.

Full-day trips allow for longer approaches, more time in the canyon, and additional rappels, creating a more complete canyoneering experience than shorter outings. The day typically includes a desert approach hike and an extended canyon descent using ropes and rappels. Route length, canyon style, and technical elements vary based on the canyon of choice.

This is a legitimate canyoneering adventure with real rappels, route finding, and hands-on movement through canyon terrain. While no prior canyoneering experience is required, this trip is best suited for guests that have some canyoneering experience or guests with average or better physical fitness and who are comfortable spending a full day outdoors in technical terrain.

After booking, your guide will reach out to learn more about your group’s experience level, fitness, comfort with heights or tight spaces, and what you’re hoping to get out of the day. Photos on this page show examples of canyon terrain commonly encountered on full-day routes. Canyon choice will be made after booking.
