Join us for a delightful temari sushi experience in Kyoto! This hands-on activity takes place in a warm and inviting local home.
Temari sushi is said to have originated in Kyoto. It was designed to be a bite-sized treat that wouldn’t smudge the makeup of maiko (apprentice geisha).
These round, colorful balls of sushi not only look adorable but are also made from fresh ingredients, primarily sashimi, along with options like ham, eggs, and avocado, allowing you to recreate them at home.
The experience begins with cooking rice and preparing it as sushi rice,
You will then add various toppings, creating vibrant and eye-catching sushi.
Japan has four distinct seasons, and the ingredients available will vary throughout the year.
We will use fresh, delicious ingredients that are in season, ensuring a tasty and authentic culinary experience.
I will also prepare miso soup, a healthy soup that has been a staple in Japanese cuisine for generations.
I will demonstrate how to make it right in front of you. Additionally, I will provide several side dishes that are commonly enjoyed in Japanese households.
When you return home, you can take these recipes and Japanese snacks with you as souvenirs.
