Upon arrival, facilitator Miki will introduce the flow of the tea ceremony, the meaning of Cha no Yu, and the traditional tools used during the session.
Participants will spend most of this 2-hour experience in the workshop area, guided step by step by facilitator Miki.
First, you will experience the tea ceremony as a guest, receiving matcha and seasonal Japanese sweets while learning how to observe, appreciate, and enjoy tea mindfully.
Next, you will learn the basic movements of table-style tea ceremony and use traditional tea utensils, including a tea bowl, tea whisk, tea scoop, and fukusa. You will also practice simple breathing and posture.
Finally, you will prepare and serve matcha yourself as a host. This quiet, hands-on moment allows you to connect Japanese tradition with breathing, posture, gratitude, and presence.
