Paint Your Own Alebrije Class in Mexico City

You’ll spend a relaxed and creative morning discovering the world of Mexican alebrijes.

We’ll meet at a local café in Roma Sur, where I’ll introduce you to the history, symbolism, and traditional techniques behind these colorful Mexican folk-art figures.

Then, you’ll choose your own alebrije and bring it to life by painting it with your own colors and designs. I’ll guide you through the process, but there are no rules—you’re free to create something that feels completely yours.

While you paint, we’ll talk about Mexican culture, the meaning behind different symbols and colors, and how alebrijes became one of Mexico’s most recognizable art forms.

You’ll also meet a local artisan who will share part of her experience and creative process with us.

At the end, you’ll take your finished alebrije home as a unique souvenir you created yourself, along with a better understanding of the tradition behind it.
