The itinerary described below is my standard full day Highlights Tour, designed for those with limited time who still want to discover as much of Pico as possible. Over the course of the day, you’ll explore both the island’s iconic highlights and some of its hidden gems — from its rich wine culture and dramatic volcanic landscapes to its fascinating whaling heritage — giving you a deeper understanding of what makes Pico so unique.
However, because this is a completely private tour, the itinerary is fully customizable to suit your interests and preferences. Enjoy the freedom to choose your pick-up location, adjust the pace, spend more time at the places you love, skip stops that don’t interest you, or add other places along the way. I can adapt the day to your group, making the experience more personal, relaxed, and flexible.

We'll have a glimpse of ancient Laurel Silva Forests, remnants of a time when these lush woodlands covered much of the earth.

We'll have a stop at Prainha for our picnic lunch with local flavors and a nice view.

In the afternoon, we'll dive into the island’s history and culture. We’ll explore the unique wine traditions of Pico, visiting charming coastal villages and other historic witnesses from the island’s golden age of winemaking.

We'll have a stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the challenges and triumphs of producing Pico’s exceptional wines.

You have the possibility to add and enjoy a guided wine tasting. You’ll taste 3 distinct volcanic wines with expert insights from a local winemaker (This is included in the tour price with optional winetasting I minimum age 18 years).
