Overview
Fly from Istanbul to Şanlıurfa in the morning, stand among the 12,000-year-old pillars of Göbeklitepe and be back in Istanbul the same night. Flights, Istanbul hotel transfers, lunch and entrance fees are included.
This private day trip takes you to Göbeklitepe (Göbekli Tepe), the oldest known temple in the world. It was built thousands of years before Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide meets you at Şanlıurfa Airport and takes you straight to the site.
After Göbeklitepe you see the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum and the Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum, the Roman rock tombs of Kızılkoyun, the sacred fish pool of Balıklıgöl and the historic bazaars, with lunch in the city. In the evening you fly back to Istanbul, where a driver takes you to your hotel.
