Day 1: Hiking from Momela Gate to Meriakamba Hut

Start your adventure with a scenic drive from Arusha to the Momela Gate, where you’ll complete registration and meet your team for the trek ahead. From here, your yourney begins with an armed ranger escort, ensuring safety as you hike through the beautiful Montane Forest. Along the way, keep your eyes open for the incredible wildlife that inhabits the area, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various species of monkeys. The trek to Meriakamba Hut follows a moderately challenging trail, providing you with plenty
of time to adjust to the altitude while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Day 2: Hiking from Meriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on your trek toward Saddle Hut, navigating a steep but incredibly rewarding ascent. As you climb higher, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone, making the effort worthwhile.
Upon reaching Saddle Hut, a hot lunch will be ready, allowing you to refuel and relax after the challenging hike. Once you’ve rested, you have the option to take a short hike to the summit of Little Meru, where you’ll be greeted with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, a perfect way to end the day.
Day 3: Hiking from Saddle Hut to Summit and Hike Down to Meriakamba Hut

We wake up just after midnight and have a light meal to keep our energies high. Once done with the meal we start the final ascent to Socialist Peak. This ascent will be steep and we will be making our way through gravel and rocky cliffs. This
is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. Once at the summit, you will enjoy the magnificent views of the Meru Crater and the Ash cone. There are chances that one might catch a glimpse of wildlife like mountain
Reedbucks and Klipspringers over the rocky ridge.
From the summit, we begin our descent by continuing straight down to the Miriakamba hut.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella gate

After breakfast, we continue the descent down to the Momella Gate, we will change the route and take the southern route down hence the change in distance
trekked on this day. We will also pass through the astonishing Fig tree Arch. Monkey Adventures vehicle will be waiting for you at Momella gate to drive you back to your hotel in Arusha (around 1 hour and 30 minutes).
