What to expect

  1. Konigssee
    3h
Königssee, located in the Berchtesgaden National Park in the Bavarian Alps of southern Germany, is often called Germany’s cleanest and most beautiful lake. Surrounded by steep mountain walls, its emerald-green water is calm and remarkably clear. To protect the environment, only electric boats are allowed on the lake. Visitors can take a scenic boat trip across the water, listen to the famous echo demonstration along the way, and stop at the red-roofed pilgrimage chapel of St. Bartholomew, one of the most photographed sights in the region.
  2. Salzburg
    3h
Salzburg, in northern Austria close to the German border, is a UNESCO World Heritage city known as the birthplace of Mozart and the setting of The Sound of Music. Its baroque old town sits beneath the Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of the largest medieval castles in Europe, which overlooks the Salzach River. Visitors can wander through Getreidegasse, the lively shopping street, visit Mozart’s Birthplace, and see Mirabell Palace and its beautiful gardens. Many of the old town’s highlights are within easy walking distance, making it ideal to explore on foot.
  3. Berchtesgaden
    2h
Nestled in the Bavarian Alps at the foot of the Watzmann Mountain, Berchtesgaden is a charming historic town surrounded by spectacular alpine scenery. Stroll through its picturesque old town, admire traditional Bavarian architecture and peaceful squares, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this beautiful mountain destination.
