What to expect

Day 1: Day 1 : Cusco – Chullpas de Ninamarca – Cloud Forest – Bambu Lodge
  1. Manu National Park
    12h
We will pick you up at 5:00 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco to start the adventure to Manu National Park. On the way we visit the Chullpas of Ninamarca, ancient pre-Inca burial towers. Then we arrive at Paucartambo, a traditional village where we have a local breakfast.

We continue to Ajanaco, the entrance to the park, and from there we begin the descent into the cloud forest. In this area we will see orchids, ferns and bromeliads. Hopefully, we can observe the rooster of the rocks, Peru's national bird, and the bespectacled bear.

Along the way we will make several stops to enjoy the scenery, flora and fauna, and take a lunch on the route. In the afternoon we arrive at Bambu Lodge, a cozy hostel where we will spend the night. Weather permitting, we will take an optional night hike.
Day 2: Day 2: Bambu Lodge – Golden Noose Lodge
  1. Manu National Park
    1 day
After breakfast, we continue the route to the Picos de Oz bird center, where we can observe hummingbirds, monkeys and other exotic birds. Then we visit a coca plantation, a small lagoon and continue to the pier of Atalaya.

There we took a canoe to tour the Manu River. During the tour, we will see birds and animals along the banks. Upon arrival at the Golden Noose Lodge, we settled down and had lunch.

In the afternoon we will hike to the large ceiba tree, the highest in the Peruvian Amazon, which can reach more than 66 meters. We explore the area for monkeys, birds and insects and enjoy a beautiful sunset in the jungle.

We return to the hostel for dinner and, weather permitting, take a night hike to observe animals that only go out at night.
Day 3: Day 3 : Noose of Gold Lodge – Lake Machuhuasi
  1. Manu National Park
    1 day
After breakfast, we will walk for an hour to Lake Machuhuasi, a quiet place surrounded by nature. Here we will have the opportunity to observe birds, monkeys and other animals, as well as climb a small viewing tower to take panoramic photos.

During the hike, your local guide will explain details of the ecosystem and teach you some basic jungle survival techniques, such as climbing trees and recognizing edible plants or fruits.

We will return to the hostel for lunch around 1:30 p.m. In the afternoon, we will explore small ponds near the river, where we can cool down and relax surrounded by butterflies and vegetation.

Before dinner, we will go on a night hike in search of nocturnal monkeys and other creatures active at night.
Day 4: Day 4 : Noose of Gold Lodge – Collpa de Parrots – Watchtower – Cusco
  1. 12h
Very early we will leave by canoe to visit the collpa of parrots, where we will see an incredible natural spectacle: dozens of parrots and macaws feeding on clay, an ideal time to take photos.

Then we will return to the lodge to enjoy our last breakfast in the jungle, pack and board the canoe to the pier of Atalaya. Our ground transportation will await us there.

We will start the return to Cusco by minivan, making a stop at the viewpoint of Ajanaco for lunch and a little rest. The landscape on the way back offers new views of the jungle and the Andes.

We will arrive in Cusco at night, closing this unforgettable adventure in the Peruvian Amazon.
