You will be met at Hounslow West Underground station and taken to the local Indian shop to learn how to buy the ingredients that we will use in the cooking class. We will then walk to the Cooking With Monisha kitchen, a 5 minute walk away (no steps) to begin the class. You will be offered Masala Chai as we talk through how to put together an Indian meal. We will then cook our meal to include Pulao Rice, a curry (chicken or chickpea), a smoked cumin raita (a dish made with salad vegetables and yoghurt) and a vegetable side dish. We will cook as a group but there will be lots of hands on activity as we want our guests to do the cooking! We will eat what we cook at the end. We will provide recipe sheets and ingredients.
With the help of your cooking instructor Monisha Bharadwaj, an award winning author of 17 books including The Indian Cooking Course, Indian in 7 (winner of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards- Best Indian Cookbook in the Word UK) and Indian Cooking for Dummies, professional chef (Iron Chef America judge) and teacher (Recognised Culinary Educator 2025, UK) you will learn how to prepare a delicious Indian meal that can be recreated effortlessly in your own kitchen.
