El Pit Cenote is famous for various reasons. It is one of the dream cenotes for all divers since it is 119.18 mts (391 ft) deep. Also, explorers discovered two human skeletons that are more than 10,000 years old there. Nicte Ha Cenote is another stunning cenote in the pleiad of the Dos Ojos cave system cenotes.
Both cenotes are part of the Dos Ojos cave system. The system Sistema Sac Actun-Nohoch-Dos Ojos today is the world’s second-largest underwater cave system, with 376,7 km (234 miles) of underwater lines and a maximum depth of 119.18 mts (391 ft) in El Pit cenote.
2 dives included.
The El Pit Cenote is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful. It has an oval-shaped opening of 10 meters, and its main attraction is the lovely rays of light that cross the cavern’s crystalline water. You should take advantage of the views in the early morning hours and observe how the light rays pass through this impressive sinkhole from below.
A cavern line in Nicte Ha cenote allows recreational divers to enjoy beautiful speleothems around the cenote entrance in the cavern zone.
The activity is not wheelchair accessible, as a steep staircase with about 25 steps leads down to the water.
