This is a lovely Kyoto Machiya exhibition room located near Toji Temple, about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station.
In the kitchen here, we hold small-group cooking classes for overseas visitors on Japanese cuisine, vegetarian cuisine, and obanzai.
We will demonstrate how to cook rice in a clay pot and how to make miso, a fermented food. With the help of others, you will make rice, soup, and several side dishes to complete the dish.
After that, you will plate the food and eat it.
It is a meal of one soup and five side dishes. We will serve matcha tea after the meal.
Please feel free to ask any questions about Japanese cuisine, utensils, culture, etc.
We will speak in both English and Japanese so that you can communicate.
We hope you will have a fun time.
