Overview
Get to know two of Istanbul's oldest neighborhoods the way locals do. This food tour takes you through Fener and Balat, the historic Greek and Jewish quarters along the Golden Horn, where culture, faith, and everyday life come together in the streets and the food.
We'll meet at a cozy café in Balat and welcome you with some local snacks. From there we start with a culture walk to introduce you to the neighborhood, its famous colorful houses, the old Greek Orthodox school, and historic churches and mosques sitting side by side, while your guide shares the stories behind it all.
Then comes the food. As we continue through the backstreets, you'll try more than 10 Turkish foods, from street snacks to sweets, picked from the family-run spots locals actually go to.
