What to expect

  1. Trilha de Misterios Negros
    3h
The Mistérios Negros trail is a hiking route that offers a unique experience due to its rich natural and geological features. The name “Mistérios Negros” (Black Mysteries) comes from the solidified lava formations, known as “mistérios”, which were created by relatively recent volcanic eruptions (in geological terms) and still contrast sharply with the lush surrounding vegetation.
  2. Biscoitos
    1h
Experience the raw beauty of Biscoitos, on Terceira’s north coast. Shaped by ancient basalt lava flows, this dramatic black shoreline meets the deep blue Atlantic, creating stunning natural swimming pools carved by the sea. Relax in crystal-clear waters and explore volcanic landscapes. A perfect blend of nature, geology, and tradition.
