Overview

Huanglong National Park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992 because of its outstanding travertine formations, waterfalls and limestone formations as well as its travertine terraces and lakes rating among the three most outstanding examples in the world. Located 370 kilometers northwest of Chengdu, because of bullet train, now it's possible to do a day tour from Chengdu, take advantage of this opportunity and join our private tour now.

What to expect

    Huanglong National Park is a scenic and historic interest area located in Songpan county, in the northwest part of Sichuan. The Park is known for its colorful travertine pools formed by calcite deposits, as well as diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, waterfalls and hot springs.

    Itinerary details:
    Pick up from your hotel then transfer to Chengdu East Train Station for train to Songpan and meet by local driver then head to Huanglong National Park directly.
    One way cable car up to the highest point，then walk down on wooden boardpath to famous main site of Five Colors Pond, then Huanglong Temple, after walk down towards the entrance, total about 4 or 5 hours, get out of the Park about 7 pm, then transfer back to Jiuzhai Huanglong Train Station back to Chengdu.
    After arrival Chengdu East Station, follow sign to West Square till see Burger King restaurant, meet driver here then transfer to your hotel.

Pickup details

Departure point: Free picking up service from your city hotel or residence in Chengdu (all hotels within 3rd Ring Road), if you stay outside the 3rd Ring Road, then need to be picked up at the main gate of Wuhouci, or please contact us in advance to arrange to be picked up from your hotel or airport and pay extra cost to driver.
Return point: Returns to original departure point or can be drop-off at the city center.

  • Please be advised that a moderate amount of walking is involved, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • The highest point of Huanglong, Five Colors Lakes, is 4,000 meters above sea level. Please slow down your walking speed and slowly adapt to the high altitude.
  • The weather on the plateau changes quickly. Please wear appropriate clothes and bring an umbrella if necessary.
