Step closer to the world of real sumo. This is more than just watching—it is a chance to train, learn, and step into the dohyō with former professional rikishi.
During this approximately 70-minute session, you will learn shiko, matawari, tachiai, butsukari-geiko, basic techniques, and traditional dohyō etiquette such as sonkyo, chiri-chozu, bowing, and match procedures.
At the end, every participant will challenge a former professional rikishi in a sumo match. Participants do not wrestle against each other.
The experience takes place on a specially designed full-size mat-based dohyō and is limited to 15 participants.
Family and friends can join as spectators for ¥3,500 per person, while children aged 12 and under attend free. Spectators may also have the chance to join as a yobidashi (ring announcer) or gyoji (sumo referee).
The program is open to first-time visitors and guests who have already watched sumo or visited other sumo attractions.
