Jiu Jitsu, is a martial art focused on grappling and ground fighting. It's known for its practicality in self-defense situations and its emphasis on technique over strength.
In our workshop, we'll start by warming up for 10 minutes to get our bodies ready for action. This might include some stretching, light jogging, or other simple exercises to loosen up muscles and increase flexibility.
Next, our coach will guide you through some basic Jiu Jitsu techniques. For example, how to control an opponent on the ground, how to escape from certain positions, or how to apply chokes effectively.
You'll have about 40 minutes to practice these techniques with a partner, under the guidance of the coach.
Finally, we'll end the lesson with a light sparring session, also known as 'rolling'. This is where you'll have the opportunity to put your skills to the test in a controlled environment. You'll pair up with another student and try to apply the techniques you've learned while also defending against your partner's attacks.
Overall, our Jiu Jitsu workshop is designed to give you a taste of this dynamic martial art, and teach you skills that you can use to defend yourself if needed.
