Fancy a day in the Yarra Valley without anyone having to drive? This private wine tour from Melbourne is just for your group, so it feels more like a day out with friends than a tour.

Meet us at Federation Square at 9am and head an hour east into Victoria's best known wine region. Start at Yering Station, home to Victoria's first vineyard, for a tasting of cool climate chardonnay and pinot noir. Then it's on to Soumah for a tasting and a two course lunch with a glass of wine.

After lunch, call into Helen & Joey Estate, a relaxed cellar door with lovely views over the vines, and finish at Payten & Jones in Healesville, a fun small batch winery. More of a gin or beer crowd? Swap that last stop for Four Pillars gin or Watts River Brewing.

Your host driver looks after the timings and the road, and you're back in the city around 5pm. Great for birthdays, couples, families and small groups of 2 to 24. Children aged 4 and up are welcome.

  • Children aged 4 to 17 are welcome and are booked at the same price as adults. They join the lunch; wine tastings are for guests 18 and over.
  • If Soumah can't host your group on your date, lunch moves to Tokar Estate (two course shared lunch with a glass of wine). We'll let you know ahead of time.
  • The Watts River Brewing swap is available Wednesday to Sunday.
  • Sunday tours carry a $10 per person venue surcharge, which is included in the Sunday price.
  • Please tell us about any dietary needs when you book and we'll look after you.
  • Summer days in the Yarra Valley can be hot with a few flies, so bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
