Day 1: DAY 0 — WELCOME DAY
Ha Giang

Settle in for the scenic 7-hour ride up north, with a pit stop along the way to stretch, snack, or panic-buy anything you forgot. Arrive at your stunning homestay in the mountains around 4PM.
You’ll roll into Ha Giang with plenty of time to meet the crew and grab a cold beer by the pool. A comfy bed awaits to ensure you’re fully rested for the epic loop ahead.
Day 2: Day 1: RISE AND EXPLORE

Start the day right with breakfast, coffee, and big adventure energy. We hit the road at 9AM (ish) towards Pac Sum Pass for the first killer viewpoint.
Next up: Quan Ba Heaven Gate (yep, it lives up to the name), lunch in Tam Son town, and a scenic ride across the Dong Ha suspension bridge and Thai An route.
Coffee stop in Lung Ho? Yes please. Then it’s off to Du Gia Valley, with a short trek to the hidden Khau Làn waterfall to wash off the dust from the road.
Wrap up with a local family dinner and a few shots of happy water (hydration, but make it spicy). Finish the night at the underground bar and dance off Day 1 with your new Ha Giang family.
Day 3: DAY 2: DEEP DIVE INTO CULTURE AND NATURE
Ma Pi Leng Pass

We’re taking the scenic backroads through Red Dao and Nung villages, heading to Ban An stream for a secret bamboo raft ride.
After that, it’s time to level up: we hit Ma Pi Leng Pass (yep, the iconic one), climb for panoramic views, and brave the Skywalk if you’ve got the guts. Get ready for the famous Instagram shot at the Death Ledge.
We’ll spend the night nearby, because this kind of beauty deserves more than a drive-by. Spend the night in the town that resembles a Christmas market and polish it off with a cheeky late night Chinese beer.
Day 4: DAY 3: UNCOVER HIDDEN GEMS
Lung Cu Flag Tower

We start the day heading southeast toward the Vietnam–China border, where your guide will drop some wild stories amongst incredible views.
Hike up to the iconic Lung Cu Flag Pole for serious views (and the photo to prove it). At the most Northern point in Vietnam, you can look into China and, of course, grab an ice cold beer. Lunch is served in Lolo Chai, a village of H’mong clay houses, before we end the day with one last coffee stop at Can Ty Pass.
Finish the day strong with Vietnam vs The World - pitching backpackers against guides in a game of football.
After that, it’s on to Yen Minh for dinner and your final night in the mountains.
Day 5: DAY 4: SAY FAREWELL WITH STUNNING VIEWS
Quan Ba

Today, our journey winds through wild karst landscapes sitting 850 to 1,100 metres above sea level. We’ll get back on the road and head to Quan Ba District for a final lunch with a view, passing through Lung Tam weaving village for a last glimpse of local life and a stop off at Tham Ma Pass, one of Vietnam’s most instagram’ed roads, before it’s back to Ha Giang for the journey back to your free night at Mad Monkey Hanoi.
