The Jama Masjid in Delhi, also known as Masjid-i-Jehān-Numā ("World-Reflecting Mosque"), is one of India's largest and most iconic mosques. Commissioned by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and completed in 1656, it stands in Old Delhi's historic Shahjahanabad area, near the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk .
