Step into the fascinating world of traditional Japanese theater through this unique cultural experience featuring dramatic Kumadori makeup from Kabuki and the elegant beauty of traditional Shironuri white makeup.
As you learn about the history and meaning behind Kabuki makeup, you’ll have the chance to apply traditional Japanese-style makeup yourself with guidance from professional artists. You are welcome to take photos and videos throughout the experience using your own camera or smartphone, creating unforgettable memories of your transformation.
At the end of the session, you can take home your very own Oshiguma — a special souvenir created by transferring your completed Kumadori makeup onto paper, just like traditional Kabuki actors once did.
This one-of-a-kind cultural experience and personalized souvenir will become a truly unforgettable memory from your time in Japan.
Starts at 1 PM.
Your instructor is a professional makeup artist with close connections to active Kabuki actors who also worked on the acclaimed Japanese film Kokuho (National Treasure).
