Day 1: Cusco - Cloud Forest - Pilcopata

We leave Cusco very early in the morning in our comfortable minivan. We ascend to the upper area of Paucartambo. On the way we visited the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca. We then descend through the mysterious cloud forest, full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We stop to give you the opportunity to witness the cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruviana) in the mating ritual. There are also chances to see trogons (Trogon sp.) and much more. If we are lucky we will find the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we will arrive at the town of Pilcopata, where we will spend the first night in a hostel with private bathrooms and showers.

Day 2: Pilcopata - Atalaya - Paititi Hostel

After breakfast we will walk to explore the jungle and along the way we will visit tropical products of the jungle such as the coca plantation, fruits and varieties of birds, plants and monkeys in this way we will be able to experience wildlife. Arriving then at the port of Atalaya, where we will take a boat and navigate the upper Madre de Dios River. On the way we will stop and walk along a trail and we will have the opportunity to take a bath in the hot springs in the area, and then continue sailing towards our lodge. After lunch, we will go exploring the jungle and rafting on Lake Machuhuasi. In the evening we will do an interesting night walk to crown the day. Finally we will spend the night in our Paititi Hostel with private bathrooms and showers.
