Cultural Arts Workshop Journey in Old Town Antalya

There will be a number of workshops and the first one will be string instrument making hosted by a craftsman with over 30 years of experience.

String instruments range from Turkish traditional ud and saz to guitar, ukalele and violin. They can also be personalized and shipped to any destination in the world.

The craftsman will share the complete experience and steps of how a wood slab turns into a beautiful instrument as an art form.

Woodwork is a beautiful and functional art form especially for kitchen. The craftsman will share the experience of creating beautiful functional art from different types of wood panels.

Various types of wood are used to create different utensils and they are handcrafted by the artist to its precise and final beautifully smooth form.

Copper art is an ancient form of art taught within the family for generations. You will experience how the craftsman shapes copper precisely without any extra additional tools other than a hammer

You will have the chance to explore how exquisite copper art is actually made and get your personalized copper gifts while knowing it is made.

You will learn from a dedicated artist how metal parts which would otherwise be wasted become creative art pieces

You will have the chance to explore creative recycled metal art

Learn how metal art is made, interact with the artist and own optionally personalized metal art pieces.

We will give a break between the workshops, sip our coffees, relax and mingle at the iconic stove museum cafe in the center of Old Town.

Rug making requires years of expertise and each region of Turkey has its forms and methods of rug making. You will learn the basics of the history and different types of rugs.

Explore hundreds of natural and gem stones along with their benefits and resourcing at the main wholesale and workshop center of the region.

Some stones include himalayan salt rock, amethyst, & sultan stone. They all are beautiful and have amazing stories along with unique benefits.

You will be able to explore amazing traditional artful products along the workshop journey made by craftsmen

Following all the workshop experiences, we will end the activity with traditional turkish coffee making and tasting, which is included in your ticket.

Alternatively, you can have traditional Turkish tea at our final stop, Turkish cafe.

Overview

8 cultural art introductory workshops to be taught in 1 event offering a unique and wholesome experience of Old Town Antalya.
Workshops include traditional string instrument making, woodwork, metal, copper arts, rug making, leather, jewelry, and traditional Turkish coffee making.
The participants will be able to experience the introduction for 8 unique art forms interactively asking the artists their questions as they learn about the details.
Mingling with international people while experiencing their coffee or tea in a unique cafe with views of Old Town at the break and the activity with traditional tea and coffee making at the end.

WORKSHOP PART 1
String instrument making | Woodwork | Copper | Metal Art Workshops
You will be enjoying interactive workshops given by talented artists about Turkish musical instruments, woodwork, copper & metal arts held in separate locations a few minutes from each other. You will learn the basics of each art and be able to shop for personalized items affordably.

We will take a break in the iconic Spiral cafe to relax, socialize, and enjoy the Old Town views.

WORKSHOP PART 2
Rug Weaving | Leather | Jewelry Making | Turkish Coffeemaking
We will then move to the center of Old Town for carpet, leather, and artisanal product workshops. You will experience all the art forms.

We will end the event with a traditional Turkish coffeemaking workshop and tasting at one of the most beautiful cafes in Old Town.

Meeting point

The meeting point is the Hadrian's Gate or Uc Kapilar in Turkish. That is the main gate of Kaleici and it is a few minutes walk from our first workshop stop. Please try to make it 5 minutes before 10 am. We will be holding a red flag so that you can easily see us.
