Surrounded by 13th-century walls, the old town is organised around Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square lined with medieval houses. The Collegiate Church of San Gimignano is a 12th-century church whose Santa Fina chapel is decorated with frescoes by Ghirlandaio.
