In this activity, you will experience the role of a Miko, a traditional shrine maiden in Shinto, Japan’s indigenous religion. Miko assist with shrine duties such as performing sacred dances, supporting priests, and helping maintain the spiritual purity of the shrine. They are also recognized for their distinctive white and vermilion-red ceremonial robes. During the experience, you will wear authentic Miko attire, learn traditional Shinto etiquette including bowing, clapping, and graceful movement, and spend time in the quiet, sacred space of the shrine to appreciate its spiritual atmosphere and cultural significance.
