Overview
Begin with a scenic drive through Jakarta’s suburbs and countryside to Bogor, 60 km south of the city. Visit the 85-hectare Bogor Botanical Gardens, established by the Dutch in 1817 as a centre for botanical research. Discover over 15,000 plant species, including 400 types of palms, 5,000 orchid varieties, and centuries-old trees. You can also see the historic Presidential Summer Palace, once used by Dutch governors-general.
Continue to Puncak, a beautiful highland area 1,400 metres above sea level. Travel along winding roads while enjoying views of tea plantations, resort towns, and colourful tea pickers. Its cool, misty atmosphere offers a refreshing escape from Jakarta. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
