    The Sphinx: Just southeast of the pyramids, the Great Sphinx is an enormous limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, likely representing Pharaoh Khafre. It’s one of the world’s largest monolithic sculptures and a symbol of mystery.The Pyramid of Khafre and the Valley Temple: The second pyramid in size, Khafre’s pyramid still retains some of its original casing stones at the top. Nearby, the Valley Temple is where Khafre’s body was mummified, giving visitors insight into ancient Egyptian funerary practices.
