At Terakoya NINJA’s Japanese sweets making experience, you can learn how to make nerikiri, the main confection used in traditional tea ceremonies.
An experienced host dressed in kimono will explain the special sweets used in the tea ceremony while you enjoy tasting them along with matcha green tea.
The experience takes place in an authentic 24-tatami-mat room and lasts about 60 minutes. Guides are available in both English and Japanese.

This is a private or semi-private experience.
※The required time is 60 to 90 minutes.
You can choose both a traditional kimono and the rare Oshima Tsumugi haori as optional add-ons. Oshima Tsumugi is a luxurious silk textile—mud‑dyed for rich color, woven with kasuri patterns, and known for its lightweight, supple drape—perfect for experiencing Japanese elegance firsthand.
A certified kimono master will dress you—comfortably over a T-shirt or kimono undergarment—so anyone can enjoy it effortlessly. Just come as you are, no need to bring anything. Ideal for commemorative photos, this special touch ensures an unforgettable memory.
