After arriving at Murray’s Bay Harbour, guests join a guided island tour by bus and visit important historical sites, including the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, military sites and the Maximum Security Prison.

The most powerful part of the experience is the prison tour led by a Robben Island guide, traditionally including former political prisoners, who share personal experiences and explain what life was like for political prisoners during apartheid. The tour ends with a visit to Nelson Mandela’s former prison cell.
