Overview

Mikumi National Park is the best national park in Tanzania for a day trip, offering the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife without spending hours driving to reach the animals. Soon after landing, you can begin spotting wildlife in its natural habitat. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, hippos, lions and many other species.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Zanzibar and take you to the airport for your flight to Mikumi. After landing at Mkata Airstrip, you’ll explore the park on a guided safari, with a picnic lunch along the way. After around six hours of wildlife exploration, we’ll take you back to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar and transfer you to your hotel. The whole experience can take up to eight hours, making it a great way to enjoy a full safari day from Zanzibar.

    As soon as you land at Mkata Airstrip in Mikumi National Park, your professional safari guide will meet you and your 4x4 game drive will begin. Explore the park in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, hippos, lions and other wildlife. Stop midway for a picnic lunch inside the park, then continue your game drive. In the afternoon, return to Mkata Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Flight times may vary depending on the daily schedule.

Pickup details

Please be ready at your hotel reception at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
