Overview
Chandragiri-Champadevi Hiking is the best one-day hike to do in Kathmandu. Despite the huge traffic and busy city life, Kathmandu provides one of the best spots to go hiking. It is none other than the Chandragiri-Champadevi Hiking Trail. Chandragiri is a great religious destination for Nepalis, with extra flair provided by the most exquisite view of the whole Kathmandu Valley. From Chandragiri, continue walking up to Bhasmasur ridge for 1½ hours. Bhasmasur ridge (2,500 m) is the highest altitude viewpoint that provides an amazing view of the Himalayan range. Continuing the day hike with the forest and the views of Kathmandu on your left makes the hike even more worthwhile.

We begin our journey with a short ride to the Chandragiri Cable Car bottom station. Soaring above lush green hills, the cable car ride offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley. Once at the top, we begin our forest hike, soaking in the peaceful ambience of the hills. After approximately 2 hours of walking through serene woodlands, we reach Chapdanda, a perfect spot to unwind, relax, and take in the beauty of nature. We'll enjoy a delicious lunch here before continuing our trek.
Another 2-hour scenic walk leads us to Bhasmasur Hill, a spectacular viewpoint offering a panoramic view of snow-capped peaks and surrounding landscapes. From here, we descend toward the sacred Champadevi Temple, a spiritual destination with incredible vistas of the mountains and Kirtipur city. After a one-hour walk, we will reach the road connecting to Kathmandu, then we will return via private transfer.
