This is a perfect safari tour for primate enthusiasts and those interested in the chimpanzee trekking experience. Over the 4 days of the tour, you will encounter the amazing Chimpanzees of Uganda in the beautiful Kibale Forest National Park. Renowned for its thick, lush green forest cover and amazing diversity of primates, Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee trekking with the highest number and diversity of primates in East Africa.

What to expect
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa

Your Mahanda Africa Safaris guide will pick you up from Entebbe airport (or other specified pickup point) and transfer you to Protea Hotel, only a 10-minute drive from the airport.
Depending on the time of your arrival, you might have time to explore Entebbe town. There are many options in Entebbe and a tour can easily be organized at an extra cost. For example, you could visit the Entebbe Botanical gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC).
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Today, after an early morning breakfast, your Mahanda Africa Safaris guide will meet you at your lodge to start the day's activities. After a briefing, you will leave Entebbe town heading westwards to Kibale forest for the primate safari. The destination of the day is Kibale Forest National Park, which is home to the highest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. It will be a full day’s road drive through the Uganda's scenic country side, with its breathtaking landscapes and beautiful vegetation.
You will arrive late in the evening, and check in to the beautiful Kibale Forest Camp, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Today, you will be woken up by the sounds of the jungle, and served an early morning breakfast. Your Mahanda Africa Safaris guide will pick you up from your lodge and transfer you to the chimpanzee trekking start point, where you will be briefed about the day's trekking activity.
Your whole day will be spent in the jungle trekking the chimpanzees. Trekking is a great way to get close to the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also have many great photo opportunities for sure.
When your adventure with the chimps is over your guide will drive you back to the lodge for a relaxing evening in Kibale Forest Camp where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Return Trip to Entebbe and departure

Today, after breakfast, you will embark on a journey back to Kampala. You will have a stopover for lunch at the Equator where you can also take some photos and buy some souvenirs. Afterwards, you will proceed to Entebbe airport ready to catch your flight home. If you need to spend an extra night in Entebbe, we will be happy to arrange this for you.
