According to the Christian tradition and the New Testament, the Mount of Beatitudes is the place where Jesus gave the "Sermon on the Mount", which included the main points of his teachings. On the top of the mountain are located a monastery, a church, a hostel of Franciscan nuns, a garden and a farm that belongs to the Italian mission in the Land of Israel.
