Your safari adventure begins with a scenic road transfer from Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo International Airport through the changing South African countryside, passing rural villages and open landscapes before reaching the Black Rhino Private Reserve, a secluded section of the Pilanesberg National Park known for its tranquility and diverse wildlife.
Upon arrival at Tambuti Game Lodge, you are welcomed with the friendly staff. After check-in, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on the shaded deck, where you may already spot impalas, warthogs, or hornbills in the distance.
As you venture into the reserve in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, your professional ranger shares fascinating insights. Keep your camera ready, you may encounter elephants, rhinos, or even lions basking in the sun.
As dusk falls, return to the lodge where a gourmet dinner awaits, served either in the elegant dining area or outdoors under the starry African sky.
Day 2: Morning and Afternoon Safaris in the Pilanesberg

A delicious lunch is served in the lodge’s dining area, before the afternoon safari. This is the best time to spot wildlife in the golden glow of sunset, perhaps a leopard on the prowl, rhinos emerging from the thickets, or zebras and wildebeest crossing the dusty tracks.

Day 3: Morning Safari and Return to Johannesburg

On your final morning, awaken early for one last sunrise game drive through the Black Rhino Reserve. With a bit of luck, you may encounter wildlife you haven’t yet seen — perhaps a herd of buffalo moving silently through the mist, or a cheetah surveying the plains.
Return to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast overlooking the bushveld, savoring the peaceful atmosphere and the gentle rhythm of the wilderness. After breakfast, it’s time to check out and begin your return journey to Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo Airport, arriving by midday.
