With the bikes ready, we’ll drive for approximately 1.5 hours to Cuajimoloyas, located at over 3,200 meters above sea level. Once there, we’ll begin riding along dirt roads through forests and giant agaves and pines trees until we reach the village of Benito Juárez. From there, we’ll have the option to do a challenging climb to Oaxaca’s highest suspension bridge, where we’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Central Valleys, learn interesting facts about the region, and take a break to enjoy some snacks.
After spending some time at the top, we’ll begin a scenic dirt-road descent toward Teotitlán del Valle, renowned for its traditional textiles. There, a local family will welcome us for an interactive demonstration of how natural dyes are made and how traditional rugs are crafted.
We end the day, with visiting a local mezcal distillery to learn about the production process and taste different varieties of mezcal before heading back to Oaxaca City, satisfied after an unforgettable day.
