This is a hidden gem of a tea room tucked away in the residential area of Uzumasa, Kyoto.
In front of the tea room lies a traditional tea garden (Chaniwa), where you can feel the authentic world of Chanoyu.
The experience begins with you putting on a Haori jacket, followed by an explanation of the tea garden.
As you pass through the garden and enter the 4.5-tatami mat tea room, you will feel as if you have stepped into another world. In the profound silence, you can hear the sound of the water boiling in the kettle. After watching the host's tea-making ceremony (Otemae), you will have the opportunity to whisk your own Matcha.
We welcome you with traditional seasonal sweets (Joshigashi) and the finest grade Matcha.
With explanations of tea utensils and the history of Chanoyu, you will experience the very best of Japanese culture.
