Kuala Selangor Firefly Malawati Hill Day Tour is an exciting excursion to one of the biggest firefly colonies in the world. Fireflies locally-known as ‘kelip kelip’, perhaps Kuala Selangor’s biggest attraction.

    Bukit Melawati is a historical hill located in Kuala Selangor, Malaysia. It was originally known as Bukit Selangor and served as a strategic point for defense and trade during the colonial era.

    Today, Bukit Melawati is a popular tourist destination known for its historical landmarks and scenic views. Visitors can explore the hilltop fort and visit the Altingsburg Lighthouse, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. They can also see the remnants of the old palace of the Selangor Sultanate and the Royal Mausoleum.

    Another popular attraction at Bukit Melawati is the silvered leaf monkeys, also known as the dusky leaf monkeys, that inhabit the hill. Visitors can feed these playful and friendly monkeys while enjoying the picturesque surroundings

    Formerly named Altingsburg Lighthouse, after a Dutch governor. Built in 1907 and started operating in 1910. Beautiful lighthouse on the top of bukit melawati, kuala selangor. It's a good place to take photo. However, tourists are not allow to enter in the lighthouse.

    Depart to Jetty for Boarding and Observe Fireflies You will be taken on a boat ride along the Selangor River where the fireflies inhibit around the branches of the “Berembang” trees along the riverbank. Start Time: 8pm (15-20 minutes) Boat: Electrically powered fiberglass boat For maximum visibility, the best time to experience Kuala Selangor’s fireflies is slightly after 8pm on a clear, moonless night. Any later than that, and the fireflies may have found a mate, causing them to stop flashing.
