At around 8:00 am we'll start our drive from your hotel in Moshi to Marangu gate - the starting point for Kilimanjaro Mountain. There you will get a short brief on the history of Mt. Kilimanjaro and take some pictures. Afterwards we will ride down to our second stop - the coffee farm. Visit a small coffee farm where you will learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested, and processed locally. You will try your own hand at processing, roasting, and preparing a fresh cup of coffee.
After your cup of coffee, we’ll continue the ride to the Ndoro waterfalls. You will ride on the beautiful small plantations of bananas and coffee while enjoying the green landscape. From the waterfall, we'll drive to the Chagga underground caves and the Chagga live museum. Take a moment to learn the history of the caves and visit the museum which will give you the insight history of the Chagga tribe life. After lunch, we will continue to the Blacksmith to learn how this community makes their iron tools.
Day 2: Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot-Springs
  1. Kikuletwa Hotsprings
    12h · Admission ticket included
After a warm breakfast, You’ll depart from your hotel and make the drive to Maji Moto. This scenic drive takes you off the tourist trail and offers a glimpse into local life: bustling markets, local farms, and many more.
The Chemka Hot Springs is an oasis in the hinterland of the Kilimanjaro region, situated 40 kilometers from Moshi. At these idyllic underground springs with crystal clear, turquoise water, you can enjoy the perfect rest after a strenuous Kilimanjaro climb or adventurous wilderness safari. But also for day-trippers, they are an ideal destination. Whether you’re old, young, athletic or not, the Chemka Hot Springs invite you to linger, swim and explore.
The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time. On the shore, under lush trees, you can camp, enjoy your snacks, or soak up the sun while seeing the monkeys jumping between the trees.
Drive back to your Hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
