Overview
We will visit the naturalistic archaeological park of the ancient Pantalica. Trekking inside the Nature Reserve along a rocky path inside the ancient necropolis in the prehistoric caves. Pantalica archaeological area of considerable historical interest, since its foundation presumably dates back to around 448 BC. by Ducezio, king of the Sicilians.

The necropolis of Pantalica is a vast and suggestive archaeological naturalistic area in the province of Syracuse. The name derives from the Greek πάνταλίθος = place of stones or from the Arab buntarigah = place of caves. In 2005 the site was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
