Overview

Experience sunrise from Pico do Arieiro, one of Madeira’s most spectacular mountain viewpoints, at 1,818 metres above sea level. Watch the first light appear above the clouds and surrounding peaks in a shared small-group experience.

Mountain weather can change quickly. Clear views, sunrise colours and visibility cannot be guaranteed. The tour normally operates when access is open and conditions are considered safe.
If conditions at Pico do Arieiro are unsuitable, an alternative viewpoint such as Palheiro or another appropriate location may be used.
Weather, limited visibility or use of an alternative viewpoint do not automatically qualify for a refund if the tour operates.
Toilet and restaurant facilities at Pico do Arieiro may be limited or closed before sunrise. Please plan accordingly before departure.
This experience is a sunrise viewpoint tour and does not include the PR1 Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike.
Please bring warm clothing and suitable footwear. Mountain temperatures can be significantly lower than in Funchal before sunrise.
