At some points during the day- about 30 rainbows shine from most every corner of the triple parlors.

The 2 front parlors and the dining room open on to each other. Morning sun and evening sun shine through each floor

The Blue Painted Lady arguably has the most original architectural details of any house in the row, The decor represents 175 years of the owner's family in San Francisco

When the tourists are looking at us, this is what we see back. Look at the shadows! Guests can spot the Golden Gate bridge from the front windows and the downtown skyline from the rear.

The house is 131 years old (2025), but the interiors reflect 176 of the owner's family possessions in San Francisco. The bust is from 1874, a copy of "the Dance" at the Paris Opera Garnier

We have 16 sets of antique family china at the Blue Painted Lady. We always show this 1894 Limoges chocolate set... the same age as the house.

Overview

The Painted Ladies are known worldwide from photos, guidebooks, film and TV shows such as "Full House". For locals, they are a cherished symbol of our city and our history. These are all private homes and are rarely open for viewing. The blue painted lady is one of the most original and preserved of the seven homes in this row. The interior reflects almost 174 years of this family's history in the city. It is not a recreation of an 1890s home, nor is it the tour meant as an inspiration for home décor or design. We hope guests find the period furnishings and paintings harmonious and the stories engaging.

Please No latecomers. After 5 minutes the tour moves from the steps inside...Tour is then closed.
Visitors must be able to do about 45 stairs in the one hour. Additionally, there are not always places to sit. Choose accordingly by your ability. This is a private home.
