The park is located near the banks of the Panama Canal and spans around 22,000 hectares. It contains a dry tropical forest, numerous species of birds and animals, and is crossed by the Chagres River.

    Gamboa is a small town in Panama, situated on the Chagres River and near the Panama Canal. The town is surrounded by forest and wetlands that are home to diverse native bird species. To the west, the massive Gatun Lake was created during the construction of the Panama Canal.
