Overview
Chaozhou or Chauchow is a well-known town for its long history and being the hometown for many overseas Chinese. This 2-day tour will let you take round-way bullet train from Guangzhou to Shantou and Chaozhou. You will explore Kaiyuan Temple, Guangji Bridge, old town, the ancient city wall in Chaozhou, and visit Shantou old town, view the sea in Nan'ao Island. At 7am, you will be picked up from your centrally located Guangzhou hotel, then take 3-hour bullet train to Shantou. Upon arrival, you will visit the above sites and overnight at a 4-star hotel. Afterwards, you will take the bullet train back to Guangzhou. The trip concludes in your Guangzhou hotel.

What to expect
Day 1: Guangzhou-Shantou by bullet train, then to Nan'ao Island by private vehicle
Shantou

Today you will be picked up from your centrally located Guangzhou hotel at 7am, then transferred to take 3-hour bullet train to Shantou. Upon arrival, drive to visit old town of Shantou including Little Park and old street.
Nan'ao Island

Then you will take one hour car ride to Nan'ao Island, where you will visit the beach, the new bridge, and view the lighthouse by the sea. Later, check in the hotel near the sea.
Day 2: Nan'ao Island -- Chaozhou by private vehicle, then get back to Guangzhou by bullet train
Kaiyuan Temple

After hotel breakfast, you will take 1.5-hour car ride to Chaozhou. You will visit Kaiyuan Temple that is the oldest temple in this area, built 1200 years ago initially, with well-preserved architecture and statues.
Guangji Bridge

The old Guangji Bridge that was built 800 years ago, and still possible to walk on the bridges. It is a wonderful picture to see the wooden boats to connect the bridges.
Chaozhou Arch Street

You will visit The Memorial Arch Street is renowned for its various old arches built in the ancient time. Moreover, you can taste local food here.
Later, you will get the 3-hour bullet train back to Guangzhou. The tour concludes in your centrally located Guangzhou hotel.
