Step beyond the usual tourist trail and visit a genuine rural homestead in Monde Village, just outside Victoria Falls. Unlike the better-known Mukuni Village visit in Zambia and larger cultural tours around Victoria Falls, this experience focuses on one real family homestead, daily life and personal interaction.
The visit is offered on a non-profit basis. USD 10 from every guest’s ticket is handed directly to the host family by your driver.
See traditional round homes built from local materials, with earth-plastered walls and thatched roofs. The lady of the homestead can often be seen working the soil and preparing traditional mud building material by hand, still used to maintain homes and structures.
The Victoria Falls and Hwange region has historical links to Nambya communities, alongside Ndebele, Tonga and other peoples. The family can explain their own background, customs and daily routines.
There are no staged performances or large-group village circuits. The focus is on a respectful, personal encounter while ensuring tourism benefits the family directly.
Return transport from Victoria Falls included. Minimum 2 guests.
Travelers will be contacted via WhatsApp a few days before the experience.
