What to expect

    Meet your bilingual guide at Santa Marta Cruise Port and begin your private journey to Tayrona National Natural Park. Travel comfortably toward the El Zaino entrance while enjoying views of the tropical countryside surrounding Santa Marta.

    Arrive at the main entrance of Tayrona National Natural Park. Your guide will assist with the entrance procedure before you continue into the protected area and begin your ecological hike.

    Hike to Arrecifes – 55 minutes
    Follow the marked trail through tropical forest and beautiful natural landscapes. Along the way, enjoy the lush vegetation and look for local wildlife while your guide shares information about the park and its ecosystem.

    Arrecifes – 15 minutes
    Reach the impressive Arrecifes sector, known for its wild coastline and tropical surroundings. Take a short break to enjoy the scenery and capture photos before continuing along the coastal trail.

    Walk to Arenilla – 20 minutes
    Continue along the scenic trail between the forest and Caribbean coastline. This section offers more opportunities to enjoy the natural landscapes of Tayrona.

    Arenilla – 10 minutes
    Stop briefly at Arenilla, a small beach surrounded by tropical vegetation. Enjoy the peaceful coastal scenery before continuing toward La Piscina.
  5. La Piscina de los Dioses

    Walk to La Piscina – 20 minutes
    Continue along the marked coastal trail toward La Piscina. Enjoy changing views of the Caribbean Sea and the natural rock formations along the route.

    La Piscina – 20 minutes
    Visit La Piscina, a beautiful coastal area naturally protected by rock formations. Take time to enjoy the scenery and, when park and sea conditions allow, enter the water in authorized swimming areas.

    Walk to Cabo San Juan – 20 minutes
    Complete the final section of the outbound hike toward Cabo San Juan. The trail continues through tropical vegetation before opening onto one of Tayrona's most famous coastal landscapes.

    Cabo San Juan – 1 hour 15 minutes
    Arrive at Cabo San Juan, the main highlight of the tour. Enjoy free time to relax on the beach, take photos, admire the turquoise Caribbean waters or swim in authorized areas when conditions permit. This is also the best opportunity to rest before beginning the return hike.
  7. El Zaino
    2h
    Begin the return journey along the marked trails toward the park entrance. Enjoy a final walk through Tayrona's tropical landscapes while observing the coastline, vegetation and wildlife along the way.
  8. 50m
    Meet your private vehicle at the park entrance and travel comfortably back to Santa Marta Cruise Port.
