What to expect

Day 1: Off to the Highlands
  1. Ecosse Executive - Day Tours
    9h
After leaving Edinburgh we head over the Forth to Dunfermline and the 11th Century Abbey and Royal Palace, then through Highland Perthshire (Macbeth country). Back on the road we'll head up through the Grampian and Cairngorm mountains to Clava Cairns for a visit then up to Culloden Battlefield.
Day 2: Over the sea to Skye
  1. Isle of Skye
    9h
Depart our B&B for the Isle of Skye, through Glen Shiel to Eilean Donan Castle for a visit/comfort stop. Continuing we "drive across The Atlantic" on the Skye Bridge, time will dictate our programme on Skye. We then head for Armadale and take the 45 minute sailing back to the mainland, driving through Glenfinnan towards Fort William.
Day 3: Loch Linnhe and Glencoe & Oban
  1. Oban
    9h
South along the banks of Loch Linnhe and Glencoe for a photo stop and two nights in Oban.
Day 4: Mull & Iona
  1. Iona Abbey and Nunnery
    9h · Admission ticket included
Mull has been inhabited around 6000 BC. In the 6th century, Irish migrants invaded Mull and the surrounding coast, establishing the Gaelic kingdom of Dál Riata. The kingdom was divided into a number of regions, each controlled by a kin group, one of which the Cenél Loairn, controlled Mull and the adjacent mainland to the east. Dál Riata was a springboard for the Christianisation of the mainland; the pivotal point was AD 563, when Columba, an Irish missionary, arrived at Iona and founded a monastery, from which to start evangelising the local population.
Day 5: Homeward bound
  1. Edinburgh
    9h
Along the banks of Loch Long and into MacGregor country. Past Stirling Castle, the battlefields of Bannockburn and Linlithgow Palace and home to Edinburgh for around 5pm
